VAC Assessments (Veterans Affairs Assessments)

A Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) psychological assessment is a comprehensive evaluation designed to understand the mental health needs of Canadian Armed Forces veterans and RCMP members. These assessments explore how experiences of trauma, operational stress, and service-related challenges may contribute to conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and burnout. By carefully assessing each individual’s history, symptoms, and current functioning, these evaluations help identify the impact of service on mental health and provide clear recommendations for treatment, support, and accommodations. The goal is to ensure veterans and RCMP members receive the recognition, care, and resources they need to heal and thrive.

What does our assessment process look like?

  • Once you reach out to our team, we will help you book a free 15 minute phone consultation with one of our assessment psychologists.

  • If you decide to go forward with an assessment, you will have a one hour intake session, followed by 6-10 hours (on average) of thorough testing sessions. This is broken up into several sessions. Next, you will have a feedback session in which the psychologist will go over your results.

  • Lastly, you will receive a written report containing information of the assessment process, the results, and recommended supports.
