About Andrea

“ I have devoted nearly three decades to the field of clinical psychology, navigating the complexities of human emotions and experiences and have a profound commitment to helping you towards living a meaningful and purposeful life that is in alignment to your values.”

My therapeutic style is grounded in meeting you where you are, with warmth, respect, and thoughtful curiosity. I offer a space where you can feel genuinely received, supported by a steady presence and a deep commitment to your psychological well-being.

Many individuals arrive to therapy after having already made significant efforts to improve their well-being. They have worked with different therapists, explored various therapeutic approaches, engaged in structured self-help processes, read materials, tried to think more positively, practiced gratitude, maintained healthy routines, exercised, and committed to doing the “work”—and yet still feel that something is not changing in a meaningful or lasting way.

Despite these efforts, a persistent sense of discomfort may remain. This is often experienced as anxiety, depression, insomnia, anger, fatigue, low motivation, lack of interest in work, or difficulties in relationships and overall functioning. Many describe a quiet but ongoing feeling that, even when things appear to be in order externally, something internally does not feel aligned.

From a depth-oriented perspective, these symptoms can be understood as expressions of an underlying disconnection from oneself. This may develop over time in the context of expectations, demands, or implicit rules of Others—whether rooted in family systems, social norms, or broader cultural and neurotypical frameworks. Gradually, this can lead to a way of living that feels more reactive than self-directed.

In therapy, we work to both address the symptoms and understand their persistence. Rather than focusing solely on symptom management, we explore the internal patterns and relational influences that contribute to this experience. This process supports a gradual movement away from a position of alienation toward a more grounded alignment with what is internally felt and authentically meaningful, allowing for change that is both relieving and sustainable.

My approach is integrative and depth-oriented, informed by training across North American, European, and South American traditions. I incorporate cognitive-behavioural, narrative, social, and psychodynamic perspectives, tailoring the process to each individual. I offer services in both English and Spanish.

In my private practice with Aligned Minds, I work virtually with adults, couples, and families. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, panic, PTSD, anger, narcissistic abuse, relationship transitions, communication challenges, acculturation, work stress and burnout, existential concerns, fertility-related experiences, LGBTQIA+ related concerns, as well as work related stress and performance challenges.

Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy Pilates, weight training, cooking for my family, traveling, and spending time with loved ones. I also appreciate film, theatre, and live music whenever possible!
